gwynethfar. This is just where I post songs I have recorded (no original compositions... other people wrote them, I just sing them) so my friends can hear my progress in my vocal studies.
What you should know: I've been taking voice lessons on and off (currently off) for the past year after a long hiatus from singing. I began lessons in 1996. My very first voice teacher was a lovely woman who ruined my voice by asking me to sing way out of my range. I struggled with vocal nodes in 1998 (when I had to drop out of a step sister role in a production of Rodgers And Hammerstein's Cinderella due to my vocal injury), recovered, played the role of Sister Margaretta in The Sound Of Music, and then haven't done any musical theatre since. Only recently have I gotten confident enough to share my voice with other people.
What I sing: I love to sing musical theatre (especially Sondheim) and musical theatre styled songs. I sing pop on the Karaoke machine, but don't expect to see too much here.
What I sound like: A cross between a Disney Princess and a very earnest seven year old trying out for Annie. After years of convincing myself my Opera loving friend was right, I really was a Dramatic Lyric Soprano, I've accepted my Soubrette-titude.
What I wish I sounded like: Patti Lupone, Renee Fleming, Audra McDonald, the list goes on and on.

Posting here is sporadic and whimsical, and also governed by when I have quiet time to record. All songs are in MP3 format, too, so, that's convenient.
